Hot Cross Buns
Ingredients
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 1 egg (beaten)
- ¼ cup butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 ¼ tsp salt
- 3 ½ cups white flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground cloves
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 ½ tsp yeast
- ¾ cups raisins
Instructions
- Add first 10 ingredients (everything except for the raisins) into the pan.
- Select: Dough/Pasta Setting.
- Press start.
- Add raisins when the “add ingredients” signals beeps.
- When the cycle is finished, remove the dough from the machine. If necessary kneed. Divide into 18 piece, place on a cookie sheet, cover and let rise (approx. 30 mins).
- Combine 1 slightly beaten egg with 1 tablespoon of water and brush on buns. Cook for 15 to 18 min at 350 oF
Glaze (optional)
- ½ cup icing sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- ¼ tsp almond flavoring
