Tourtière – Classic

1- 1 1/2 lb ground pork
1 small onion, diced
1 clove of garlic
1/2 Tsp salt
1/2 Tsp savory
1/4 Tsp celery salt
1/4 Tsp pepper
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Pie Shell (top and bottom)

  1. Combine all ingredients (except the bread crumbs) in pot and bring to a boil.
  2. Cook for 20 min.
  3. Remove from heat, slowly add 1/2 cup bread crumbs, spoonful by spoonful, until fat has disappeared from top.
  4. Allow mix to cool, then pour into a pie shell and cover with crust.
  5. Bake at 500 °F, for 25 min. reduce heat to 400 °F, until crust is a golden brown
