½ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
½ tsp almond flavouring
2 ¼ cups flour
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
½ cup milk or ¼ cup milk and ¼ cup cherry juice (makes the batter pink)
1-16 oz jar cherries
Cream sugar, butter, eggs and almond flavouring. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Add drained and floured cherries. Bake 1 hr 350°.
